Everywhere you go, fans keep sounding the funeral bells for Microsoft's gaming division. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a platform few have heard of. Xbox fan sites began covering about PlayStation unprecedentedly. 2025 was a period of total upheaval for the Xbox ecosystem. Yet, based exclusively on what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it's evident that Microsoft remains determined to engage players with quality releases on its key platform.
The two games currently accessible today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's truly noteworthy.
Starting January 13th, Game Pass will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that breaks up conventional open-world tropes with an intergalactic heist adventure. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "a superb mixture of terror and combat."
Yet, the less-hyped additions set to join the catalog are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike offering thrilling gameplay, becomes available next week — and you should try it whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
The game set in a ruined Britain from last year might get its hooks in you within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the developers behind Sniper Elite, also warrants your attention. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.
In summary, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, nor are they first-party juggernauts that justify the service by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are very dependable. It offers a healthy blend of past releases that passed you by and relatively recent releases that lacked the recognition they warranted upon launch — transforming them into perfect candidates to get a second chance on Game Pass.
Be prepared to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
