The Miami Heat recorded 86 first-half points versus the Memphis Grizzlies

The Heat claimed a crushing 146-114 win against the Memphis Grizzlies in their initial NBA game since guard Terry Rozier was detained for alleged unlawful sports betting.

Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups was also detained as part of a broad FBI probe into illegal gambling. The two individuals deny the allegations.

But, the Miami team were focused as they put up 86 opening half points to lead Memphis by thirty-nine after two quarters, the largest halftime lead in the franchise's 37-year existence.

Adebayo led the way with 24 points and later said Terry had the team's full backing.

Heat coach Spoelstra commented: "Terry is a person who is important to everyone. He has made a real positive impact on our team.

"We send our thoughts and our care for him as he faces this."

Portland additionally secured their first game since the detentions, with Brazilian Tiago Splitter stepping in as temporary head coach in Chauncey's non-attendance and leading the squad to a convincing 139 to 119 win against the Warriors.

"Everyone experienced positive times with Billups and how he coached," Splitter remarked. "Our thoughts are with him and his family but our focus is on the game."

NBA Commissioner Silver 'Upset' by Arrests

Speaking about the arrests for the initial occasion, league head Adam Silver stated he was "very upset" by the incidents of the past few days.

"Federal authorities has subpoena power... [it] can impose penalties, can do all kinds of things that the league office is unable to.

"So, we've been working with them since then. Naturally, what they revealed yesterday was an indictment.

"Moreover two and a half years later, he still hasn't been convicted of any offense, in justice to Rozier.

"Obviously, it appears unfavorable, but he's been put on administrative leave, and so it is a balance here between protecting people's rights and investigating."
