Barça Set to Play Historic Game at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Basque side in the Spanish league two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators can be present based on approved permits. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed finished work included an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Preparatory Events

The club conducted a public practice on the home pitch on 7 November. The club said approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body to host the next European match versus the German side next month in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
